As a fearsome force

gaṅgā jamunavā ke lahariyā dekhi nā; maiyā jiyarā ḍaräile
lahariyā dekhi nā

sāvana bhadauvā ke umarala nadiyā; lahariyā dekhi nā

panavā hi phulavā ke bojhala naiyā;

ghare sāsū risiyäihaį dupahariyā bhaye
V.
ghare prabhu risiyäihaį jevanāra binā

ghara bālaka rovaį dūdha binā

gaṅgā mā̈ī deyo na bidäiyā gharavā jā̈ų̄ apane

Seeing the wave of Gangā and Yamunā,2 mother, (my) heart is afraid

The river is flooded (as it is the time) of śrāvaṇa and bhādrapada.1

The boat is heavy with (the burden of) only leaves and flowers.

At home the mother-in-law will be annoyed when it is midday.
V.
At home (my) lord will be annoyed without (his) meal.
VI.
At home the children will cry without milk.
VII.
Mother Gaṅgā, allow (me) leave (won't you?) (so that) I may return to my home.
