2)Hendrick Beeckman se trouva à Londres à partir de mai 1567 (cf. ci-dessous n. 6), comme sans doute son frère Geeraert. On trouve leurs noms sur deux listes de Flamands qui fréquentaient à Londres, en 1568, l'Eglise italienne (cf. Ch. Rahlenbeck, Les refugiés belges du seizième siècle en Angleterre (Extrait de la Revue trimestrielle, 2e Série, t. VIII, octobre 1885, p. 46) et Kirk, o.c., part 1, Aberdeen, 1900, pp. 387-388), quoique le nom de Enrico Bekemans pourrait désigner aussi Hendrick le fils de Tielman Beeckman, autre frère du grand-père de notre auteur. Un autre fils de Tielman, Christian Beeckmans, est mentionné sur une troisième liste (Kirk, o.c., part 1, p. 385); il semble identique à son homonyme qui fut plus tard diacre à Maidstone. Un troisième fils du même Tielman, s'appelant Geeraert, s'était fixé à Aix-la-Chapelle (cf. plus loin p. 11).

A propos de ses recherches généalogiques, notre auteur avait eu, en 1628, à Dordrecht, un entretien avec ‘Hr Rademaker (probablement Daniel), ‘wiens vader te Londen met myn grootvader seer familiaer was’ (Journal, fol. 314 verso).
6)Après la mort de Mariette, qui décéda en 1570, Hendrick Beeckman est cité encore, en mai 1571, comme ‘tallowchaundler, born in Braband and haith byne here iiij yeres denizen’, mais on mentionne seulement ses deux servants (Kirk, o.c., part 1, p. 462).
