An important series of translations in English was published between 1963 and 1967 by Sythoff and Heinemann under the title of Bibliotheca Neerlandica, a Library of Classics of Dutch and Flemish Literature. The series consists of ten volumes, containing translations of medieval religious

and secular literature, including Reynard the Fox, and work by Ruusbroec, Hadewijch, Multatuli, Couperus, Coenen, Van Oudshoorn, Van Schendel, Walschap, Vestdijk, Elsschot and Teirlinck.

Twayne Publishers (Boston) publish a Library of Netherlandic Literature in which nine volumes have appeared to date, containing work by Anna Blaman, Hubert Lampo, Frederik van Eeden, Marnix Gijsen, Marcellus Emants, Stijn Steuvels, Bert Schierbeek and Louis Paul Boon, as well as a volume of short stories.

A comparable series of translations in French is being published by Editions Universitaires in Paris under the title of Pays-Bas/Flandre. The series includes work by Ruusbroec, Multatuli, Emants, Gijsen, Walschap, Van Schendel and Teirlinck.

The Foundation for the Promotion of Translation of Dutch Literature in Amsterdam publishes a quarterly bulletin under the title of Writing in Holland and Flanders which reviews recent literature and gives information on new translations.
