Dit bestand biedt, behoudens een aantal hierna te noemen ingrepen, een diplomatische weergave van De Thiende van Simon Stevin in de facsimile-uitgave van A.J.E.M. Smeur uit uit 1965. Het origineel dateert uit 1585.

redactionele ingrepen

p. 33-35: de annotaties op deze pagina's zijn in de lopende tekst doorgevoerd. De betreffende pagina's zijn daardoor komen te vervallen.

De facsimile die in dit boek is opgenomen heeft een eigen nummering. Aan het eind hiervan wordt de nummering van de editie hervat.

Bij de omzetting van de gebruikte bron naar deze publicatie in de dbnl is een aantal delen van de tekst niet overgenomen. Hieronder volgen de tekstgedeelten die wel in het origineel voorkomen maar hier uit de lopende tekst zijn weggelaten. The facsimile of Simon Stevin's De Thiende (1585) was made after the copy in the Municipal Library in Rotterdam. In the last line of page 26 this copy has the right correction ② for what has been printed as ①. The facsimile of the Extract vande Privilegie, missing in the copy in Rotterdam, was made after the copy in the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp. The portrait facing the title was made after a picture in the University Library, Leyden.

The introduction was written by A.J.E.M. Smeur.
